Family Involvement

We use the Brightwheel App

Consistent contact between parent and teacher is an important and mandatory part of our program. We use Brightwheel for recording, tracking, and sharing daily events and activities in the classroom. We also use it for communication and updates throughout the day. This allows our parents to get real-time updates delivered to their mobile devices throughout the day. Please check your Brightwheel account daily to stay updated on all the information concerning your child(ren)s activities and progress. You can download the app or use the website. You will get more info on Brightwheel when you enroll.

We also do our monthly billing using Brightwheel.

Participation and Volunteering

Family participation is welcomed and encouraged. Volunteer opportunities vary, but we have something for just about everyone. Parents/guardians who have a child enrolled in the program may visit the program anytime during the hours of operation, just make a plan with staff prior to the visit.  Some family members may have special talents, skills, cultural traditions or experiences, which they can share with the program. We encourage that! Others may have some time to spend helping in the classroom or chaperoning a field trip. Still others may contribute items from our Amazon Wishlist and others may cut out items at home and send them back in for art. Please let a teacher or Director know if you are interested in sharing your time with us!

Parent-teacher conference days are held twice a year, however, additional conferences are available as needed. Home visits are important steps in developing the home-school connection and we encourage families to invite teachers for a home visit as soon as they are comfortable. This practice allows children to feel safe, supported, and seen fully.

Center and classroom newsletters and emails are produced to keep parents informed of upcoming events, changes in policy, recent program happenings, and classroom activities.

Community Events

Many times a year we hold Community Connection events which are agenda-less events where families, children, and staff come together to deepen our relationships.

Once a year we will hold a Community Round Table where all community stakeholders come together to problem solve, give feedback, and steer the next evolution of our work together.

We appreciate having a close and communicative relationship with our families. We look forward to finding the most inclusive experience possible for each family.
