Safety & Security
Maintaining a safe environment is our TOP
priority, every day!
Safety & Security
Parents and guardians can rest assured knowing that the safety of our students is our top priority. We understand that maintaining a safe environment where children can learn, play and grow is essential. The safety of our children starts with the security of our building. All of our building and materials are routinely inspected and maintained to ensure the safety of our students. We have security cameras throughout the building and campus for added security.
Monthly drills are held to ensure that our children and staff are as calm and prepared in the event of an emergency as possible. All doors are locked from the outside at all times and our exterior cameras and entry keypad will be up and running very soon. Our school is located within very close proximity to two Fire/EMS Stations and the west Asheville Police Department.
Visitors are only allowed on our campus with an appointment and must stay with a Director at all times.
We only release children to authorized persons who have been listed as such by a parent/guardian. We require photo-ID to be shown by all authorized persons until they can be positively identified by teachers and staff.
All of our teachers and Directors are CPR certified and are well versed in our Emergency Preparedness and Response protocol. Furthermore, all of our teachers are trained early childhood education professionals and attend a staff orientation as well as yearly continuing education trainings.
We conduct and maintain background checks for all of our employees and enrichment teachers allowed on school premises.
Our campus has a strict no-smoking policy and only law-enforcement officers are permitted to have firearms or weapons of any kind.
Health & Sanitation
We are licensed by the State of North Carolina and are inspected regularly by the Dept. of Health and Human Services and the NC Division of Child Development.
As a further commitment to the safety of our preschool community we proudly use Dr. Bronner’s hand soap, non-toxic Herbal Armor insect repellent, and top-rated All Terrain KidSport or ThinkBaby Sunscreen.
The health and safety of our students and community is our top priority. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we have increased our daily health protocols and are following the highest CDC recommendations and guidelines during this time.
Each day we take student and staff temperatures at the door and sanitize all items and hands prior to entering the building. We have implemented a car drop-off line where parents/guardians remain by their car and staff walk out to meet each student, rather than having family members enter the building. We have increased the frequency and thoroughness of staff and student hand-washing procedures.
We do ask that all of our families stay home when they are not 100% well and that they follow the 3 W’s (wait 6 ft apart, wear a mask, and wash hands frequently) at all times. We also ask that all families and staff practice regular social distancing and avoid activities that put them at an elevated risk of contracting the virus.
